Office: Sturges 215 Specialty Postmodernist fiction, aesthetics, interrelations of literature and music, psychoanalytic criticism Education Ph.D. Candidate, University of Chicago Biography John Stone-Mediatore teaches part-time in the Departments of Humanities-Classics and Philosophy. He holds advanced degrees in English, Music and Comparative Literature and is currently completing the requirements for a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago. His dissertation is on postmodernist literature and schizophrenia. Prior to teaching at Ohio Wesleyan, John taught writing at the University of Chicago and Comparative Literature courses at Indiana University. He has presented papers at major literature and philosophy conferences in the United States, Canada and England, and published in the Journal for the Psychoanalysis of Culture and Society. He is currently writing an article on rock music and the sublime for a book in the Popular Culture and Philosophy series (Open Court Press) and is presenting a paper on Jacques Lacan and contemporary American political culture at the international conference for New Directions in the Humanities this summer in Beijing.
